PEAR BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. nutmeg or cinnamon
1/4 c. yogurt or buttermilk
1 c. pears, coarsely chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter; gradually beat in the sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture alternately with yogurt. Stir in pears and vanilla. Pour into buttered 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
