PEAR - BRAN BREAD 
2/3 c. whole bran cereal
1 1/2 c. pears, peeled and cored
1/2 c. sugar (light brown)
1/2 c. milk
1 lg. egg
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
3 tbsp. butter, room temperature
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Process cereal and pears in food processor - on/off to mix. Add sugar, milk, and egg - process on/off. Add remaining ingredients to mixture - process on/off 8 to 10 times. Dough should be lumpy. Don't over-process. Pour batter into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake about 1 hour. Do toothpick test. Cool 15 minutes in pan. Remove to wire rack.
