FIG PRESERVES 
4 c. fresh mashed figs
3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. strawberry Jello
1 c. water

Combine figs with sugar and water in a heavy pan, bring to a boil. Stir in Jello and lemon juice. Bring to full boil. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour into hot sterilized Mason jars with tops.
