NEVER FAIL DOUGHNUTS 
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. milk, canned
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour

Mix flour, baking powder, soda, salt into cream mixture of eggs and sugar and milk. Hard mixture - so can be rolled out to a 1/2 inch thickness. Fry in lard at 350 degrees until golden brown on both sides.
