HELEN'S HAMBURGER SOUP | |
3 tbsp. butter 1 med. onion, chopped and sauteed in the butter 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef, browned 1 lg. can (2 1/2 to 3 c.) tomatoes 3 cans beef consomme, diluted in 3 cans water 4 med. carrots 1 bay leaf 4 celery tops, chop up leaves 6 leaves parsley, chopped 1/2 tsp. thyme 10 peppercorns 1 tbsp. salt May add 1/2 cup macaroni last 20 minutes. Bring to boil and let simmer 1 hour. Remove bay leaf and peppercorns. |
