1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. nutmeg, cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. hot water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1 can apple pie filling

Mix all ingredients together until well mixed. Pour into a greased square cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Makes a very moist cake.
