2 eggs
1 cup sugar plus 2 tablespoons (divided)
4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cups chopped dates
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Mix ingredients in order given. Bake 30 minutes in 325°F oven. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Break cake into small pieces into a large bowl.

Topping:

2 or 3 oranges, sectioned
1/2 cup sugar
2 or 3 bananas, sliced
Cool Whip

Prior to serving, section 2 oranges and retain all juice. Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar over orange sections and allow to dissolve. Cut 2 bananas over top of cake followed by orange mixture and cover with Cool Whip.
