CORNISH PASTIES 
6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water

FILLING:

1 1/2 lb. flank steak cut into 1/2 inch pieces
6 c. potatoes, 1/2 inch cubes
1 c. finely chopped onion
3/4 c. finely chopped carrot
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Accent
1 1/2 tsp. pepper

Make crust with first four ingredients. Roll out and cut into 5 inch circles. Mix filling ingredients together well, place appropriate amount on 1/2 of the crust, fold over and seal edges. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet, brush tops with milk or cream. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees or until pastie is lightly browned.
