FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
2 eggs
2 c. plain flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 can fruit cocktail
1 stick butter
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar, oil and eggs. Add flour, soda and salt. Add fruit cocktail. Mix well; bake at 350 degrees in 9 x 14 inch glass dish for 20 to 40 minutes depending on ovens.

Mix butter, sugar and milk in pan, bring to rolling boil and boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour over cake while hot.
