RED VELVET CAKE 
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. cake flour
2 oz. red food coloring
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add cold egg. Beat until fluffy. Make a paste of cocoa and vinegar. Add to creamed mixture. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Add cake coloring and vanilla; mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
