APFELPLATZ 
1 kilo (2.2 lb.) apples
1/2 c. oil
3 tbsp. sugar
300 grams (about 3/4 lb.) bread dough

Place peeled, quartered apples in a 20 to 30 cm (8 to 12 inch) pan. Grease with some of the oil. Roll out bread dough and lay it on apples. Let rise. Put remaining oil on top and sprinkle with a tablespoon of sugar. Bake 40 minutes at 220 degrees C (425 degrees F). Turn over and sugar. Serve warm.
