AND DON'T FORGET THE FAMILY DOG! | |
3/4 c. hot meat juices 1/3 c. butter 1/2 c. powdered milk 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. sugar 1 egg, beaten 3 c. whole wheat flour In a large bowl pour meat juices over butter. Stir in powdered milk, salt, sugar, and egg. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Knead the mixture for 3-4 minutes, adding flour if necessary to make a very stiff dough. Pat or roll to 1/2-inch thickness, and cut out biscuits with a dog biscuit shaped cutter or any other cookie cutter. Place on greased baking sheet and bake for 50 minutes. Allow to cool and dry until hard. Makes about 3 dozen biscuits. Since our dogs can never catch the cats, we love to use a cat cookie cutter to make the biscuits. |
