SHEPHERD'S PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. celery
1/3 c. onion
1 tbsp. shortening
Salt and pepper
1 jar gravy
1 c. sliced carrots
2 1/2 c. hot mashed potatoes
1/4 c. grated cheese

Saute ground beef, celery and onion in shortening; drain. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in gravy and carrots. Pour into an 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Spoon mashed potatoes around edge and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
