SLOVAK NUT ROLL 
2 c. warm milk
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
8 to 9 c. sifted flour

In small bowl add yeast to warm milk and 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 cup of flour mixture, mix well and set aside. In a large bowl cream butter and the sugar, add eggs, mix well. When the yeast mixture looks spongy add to the creamed mix alternately with the flour and then knead until smooth. Like you would for bread.

Let rise in a greased bowl until double in bulk. Divide into 8 equal parts. Roll each part to 1/4 inch and fill with nut filling, roll like a jelly roll. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Let rise before baking. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Sift with powdered sugar before serving. Slice about 3/4 inch thick.

FILLING:

Melt on top of stove: 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 3/4 c. canned milk

Add this mixture to 2 1/2 pounds of ground walnuts. Mix well. Fill each 1/8 part of dough.
