1 stick butter
2 med. onions, sliced
1 box herb or cheese croutons
6 lg. tomatoes, sliced vertically
3/4 lb. Jarlsberg cheese
1/2 tsp. basil
Salt to taste

Saute onions lightly in butter; add croutons and saute 3 or 4 minutes. In 9"x13" pan, place crouton-onion mixture, top with tomatoes, cheese, basil and salt. Bake at 350 degrees until hot and cheese is thoroughly melted, approximately 25 minutes. Makes 10 servings.
