WALNUT BUTTER CRUNCH 
1 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
2 c. chopped nuts (walnuts)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

Melt butter over low heat. Add sugar; stir constantly until sugar dissolves. Add water and corn syrup. Continue cooking over low heat until syrup dropped in very cold water becomes very brittle or on candy thermometer 290 degrees.

Remove from heat; stir in nuts. Spread in greased cookie sheet. Cool until hard. Melt chocolate chips and spread over crunch, then sprinkle with fine nuts. Break into pieces.
