BETSY'S SAUSAGE AND EGG
CASSEROLE
 
(Good for holiday mornings with overnight guests)

6 slices bread (buttered lightly)
1 lb. bulk sausage
8 oz. (2 c.) shredded Cheddar
8 eggs, well beaten
2 c. half and half

Cut crusts off bread slices and butter lightly. Place in bottom of glass lasagna dish. Cook sausage until crumbly, drain. Spoon sausage evenly over bread. Sprinkle cheese over sausage.

Mix together eggs and half and half; pour carefully over bread/sausage/cheese layers. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until eggs are set.
