SPANISH STEAK 
1 1/2 lb. thick round steak
Salt and pepper
2 tbsp. shortening
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 bay leaf
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1/4 c. sliced stuffed green olives (optional)
1/4 c. water
1 clove garlic, crushed

Brown steak in shortening in skillet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add remaining ingredients. Cover; simmer or bake (350 degrees) 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Makes 4 servings.
