SWEET 'N SOUR MEATBALLS 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
3/4 c. oats, uncooked
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. milk
1/8 tsp. garlic
1 egg
2 tbsp. soy sauce
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Combine all ingredients; shape in 1 inch balls. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) about 12 minutes.

SWEET 'N SOUR SAUCE:

1 (20 oz.) can drained pineapple chunks
1 (13 3/4 oz.) can beef broth
2 green peppers, cut in chunks
1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, sliced
1/3 c. cornstarch
2/3 c. maple syrup
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. vinegar

Combine pineapple chunks, beef broth, green peppers, water chestnuts, maple syrup, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil over medium high heat; reduce heat, cover, and simmer 5 minutes. Gradually add combined vinegar and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in meatballs. Transfer to chafing dish or fondue pot if used for appetizers or serve over rice as a main dish. Serves 10 to 12.
