SPICY PINEAPPLE PICKLES 
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks
2/3 c. sugar
Dash salt
1/2 c. vinegar
5 or 6 wohle cloves
3 or 4 whole allspice
2 sticks cinnamon
Red and green food coloring

Drain pineapple, divide, and put into two refrigerator dishes. Combine sugar, salt, vinegar, cloves, allspice, and cinnamon and bring to a boil. Simmer about 10 minutes. Divide. Add green food coloring to one - red to the other. Pour over chunks in dishes. Let cool before returning to refrigerator. Best if prepared several days in advance to let flavors blend. Spicy cinnamon "red hots" may be used instead of stick cinnamon.
