CHOCOLATE GOBS 
Cookies:

4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. cocoa
2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa. Set aside. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, shortening and eggs; mix well. To the shortening mixture, add milk, vanilla and boiling water, mixing thoroughly. Gradually add the flour mixture and beat well. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 450°F for 5-7 minutes.

Gob Filling:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 lb. butter (butter)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together the flour and milk. Cook until thick and smooth. Allow to cool. Add remaining ingredients and beat until creamy. Put 1 tablespoonful in between two cookies to make one "Gob".
