GRANDMA'S SCALLOPED HAM DISH 
2 thin slices smoked ham
6 c. pared, sliced potatoes
2 c. scraped, sliced carrots
1/2 c. minced onion
1 1/2 tbsp. flour
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 c. milk
Salt & pepper

Brown ham slightly on both sides in skillet. Remove and cut into serving size pieces. Combine flour with fat in skillet and add soup. Then gradually stir in milk and heat to boiling point, STIRRING constantly.

In a large bowl (casserole) arrange layers of ham, potato, carrots and onion. Sprinkle vegetables lightly with salt and pepper. Pour hot soup/milk mixture over this. Cover and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Then uncover and bake 30 minutes longer. Serves 6.
