SWEET AND SOUR PORK 
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. water
1 lb. pork shoulder, cut in 3/4 inch cubes

Oil for deep frying

SAUCE:

1 c. pineapple chunks
1 green pepper, cut in sqs.
1/2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. water
1 tbsp. molasses

For Thickening: 1/4 c. water

Heat oil in deep fryer. Mix the batter. Dip pork cubes into batter and drop in the boiling oil. Brown, then remove them and drain on paper towel. Mix ingredients for sauce in saucepan and bring to boil slowly, stirring constantly. Pour thickening, made by combining cornstarch with 1/4 cup water, into the sauce. When sauce becomes thick and smooth, add the meat and mix well. Heat thoroughly, serve at once. 4 servings.
