CLAM CAKES 
1/2 qt. chopped quahogs, drained
1 c. liquid from quahogs
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to your taste

Beat together eggs and quahog juice. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot fat at 375 degrees for 3 to 5 minutes. Keep turning so they brown evenly.
