PUMPKIN SCONES 
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. canned pumpkin
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
About 1/4 c. milk

Mix butter, sugar and pumpkin together. Pour into flour, baking powder and salt mixture. Mix well, adding enough milk to get the right consistency (at a point where flour is all worked in and it can be put on a floured board. Press out to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into squares. Glaze with milk or melted shortening. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan immediately. Serve with butter and jelly.
