OLD FASHIONED OATMEAL COOKIES | |
2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 2 c. quick cooking oatmeal 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed firm 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. shortening or butter, soft 2 eggs, unbeaten 1/3 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. seeded raisins 3/4 c. nut meats, chopped Assemble all ingredients and pans needed. Sift flour once before measuring. Chop nut meats. Grease cookie sheets. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon together in large bowl. Add oatmeal, sugar, shortening, eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat on number 4 speed until blended, about 2 minutes. Scrape sides and beaters. Add raisins and nuts. Beat on number 2 speed until blended. Drop by teaspoons on cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees about 12 minutes or until well browned. |
