RAISIN CRISSCROSS COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. milk
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. raisins

Mix all ingredients. Roll into balls and flatten with fork. Bake at 400 degrees.
