HARVARD BEETS 
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. beet liquid from can
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cloves
1 (No. 2) can (2 1/2 c.) sliced beets

Melt butter; add flour; blend. Add beet liquid; cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add brown sugar, vinegar, salt and cloves; stir until sugar dissolves. Drain beets; add. Heat thoroughly. Makes 6 servings.
