SOUR CREAM APPLE PIE 
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. and 2 tbsp. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1/4 c. apple cider

Combine ingredients for crust. Cut in butter, add cider, roll out on floured board. Put into 10 inch deep pie plate. Bake in 450 degree oven until brown.

FILLING:

8 McIntosh apples, peeled, cut and sliced
1 2/3 c. sour cream
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine filling ingredients. Pour into crust and bake 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake until puffed and golden - about 40 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 stick butter
Pinch of salt

Combine topping ingredients. Spoon onto top of pie and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and serve.
