FLO'S HEAVENLY HASH PIE 
3 egg whites
Baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
20 Ritz crackers
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder

FILLING:

1 c. heavy cream
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. almond extract
1 c. sliced and crushed strawberries

Beat 3 egg whites with a pinch of soda until soft peaks form. Gradually add 1 cup of sugar. Beat until stiff. Fold in 1 cup chopped pecans and 20 crushed Ritz crackers, add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon baking powder. Bake in lightly grease pie pan. Cook at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool before adding filling. Can be prepared several hours in advance and chilled.
