SOURDOUGH PANCAKES 
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
Flavor to taste
1 c. sourdough starter
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. cooking oil

If the batter is runny, add more flour or a little cornmeal if you like the flavor. Mix thoroughly. Drop by spoonful on hot griddle. Turn when bubbly. If they brown too much, turn sooner. Serve with whatever you usually use on pancakes.

This was my dad's every morning breakfast as I grew up. He cooked for the family in the morning, as Mom was always busy with babies.
