ITALIAN SLAW | |
1 med. head cabbage, shredded 1 med. onion, thinly sliced 7/8 c. sugar 1 c. vinegar 3/4 c. salad oil 2 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. celery seed Alternate layers of cabbage and onion in bowl. Top with 7/8 cup sugar. Bring other ingredients to a boil. Pour over cabbage. Cover and let stand 4 to 6 hours in refrigerator. Mix, drain and serve. Can be stored in refrigerator 2 weeks. Serves 8. |
