TEMPURA 
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 c. plain flour
3/4 c. ice water
1 beaten egg
1-2 tbsp. oil
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together dry ingredients, add slowly ice water, beaten egg and oil. Keep batter cold by placing batter bowl inside larger bowl containing ice. Batter will be thin and smooth. Use for frying shrimp, fish or any fresh vegetable.
