GRANGE BAKING POWDER BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg & milk

Sift dry ingredients together into bowl. Add shortening and blend well. Break the egg into a measuring cup and add milk to reach 2/3 cup mark. Stir to break up egg. Add to dry ingredients and mix lightly. Turn out on floured surface and with floured hands pat out to 1/2 inch. Cut and bake at 450 degrees until golden.
