1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients. Cook in hot cooking oil (375 to 400 degrees) until golden brown on one side. Then turn and cook until brown on other side. Makes about 20 Hush Puppies.

Especially good fried in oil in which fish has been fried.
