YEAST ROLLS
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. dry yeast
6 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. water
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
Salad oil to grease bowl

Combine sugar, salt, yeast, 2 1/2 cups flour. Heat water with butter (not too hot-hold.) Turn mixture on low speed and gradually beat liquid into dry ingredients until just blended. Increase speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.

Beat in egg and 3/4 cup flour. Beat 2 minutes (batter will be runny.) Add 2 1/2 cups flour. Place 1/2 cup flour on counter. Knead dough 10 minutes. (May use mixer or food processor with dough hook.) Blend until dough is elastic.

Place dough in large greased mixing bowl (covered) and let rise until doubled. Punch down. May cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Form into rolls; place in buttered pan. Let rise. Bake about 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees until lightly browned.
