1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and lightly flour a 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
