NO FAIL POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1 stick margarine
1 c. sugar
5 extra lg. eggs
3 c. Gold Medal flour
1 c. ginger ale
1 tsp. vanilla flavor
1 tsp. lemon extract

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Leave butter and margarine out at room temperature for 20 minutes.

In the bowl of a mixer, beat together until creamy (good and fluffy). Add eggs one at a time, beating after each additional. Add vanilla and lemon extract.

Measure flour before sifting. Add sifted flour a little at a time until all is used; mix well, then add ginger ale.

Pour into a greased and lightly floured cake pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean (or about 35 minutes).
