BUTTERSCOTCH REFRIGERATOR
COOKIES
 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter, add sugar, vanilla and eggs, one at a time. Beat until light. Add sifted dry ingredients and nuts. Chill for about 2 hours. Shape into two loaves 2 inch square. Wrap in wax paper and chill overnight. Slice 1/8 inch thick. Bake on cookie sheets in hot oven at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Remove to wire racks while hot.
