CARAMEL CAKE FILLING 
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 carton sweet cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
2 tbsp. Karo syrup
1/4 c. extra sugar, browned in 2 tbsp. butter

Brown sugar in butter. Add other ingredients (except vanilla). Bring to soft ball stage. Cool and beat. Add vanilla and spread on cake.
