APPLE PAN DOWDY 
4-6 apples, thinly sliced
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. lemon rind
1/2 recipe biscuit dough (sweetened)

Combine apples, sugar, lemon juice, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, water and lemon rind. Turn into 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Cover and bake in hot oven 450 degrees for 20 minutes. Take from oven.

Roll biscuit dough to fit over pan. Cut slits to permit steam to escape. Return to oven and bake 25 minutes or until crust is browned and apples are tender. Serve warm with cream.
