CALIFORNIA BARBECUED CHICKEN
3 lb. chicken parts
Salt
1/8 c. salad oil
1/4 c. chili sauce
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. original Worcestershire sauce

Lightly sprinkle chicken on both sides with salt. Place chicken on a rack over slow burning coals or in a single layer in a pan in a preheated 375 degree oven for 35 minutes, turning often.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine oil, chili sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and one teaspoon salt. Brush chicken with sauce. Continue cooking, turning and basting often with sauce, until chicken is done, about 20 minutes.

Serves 4. (Makes 3/4 cup of sauce - good also on pork or beef ribs.)
