1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. ground sausage 1 (8 oz.) can seasoned tomato sauce 1 (#2 1/2) can tomatoes (2 1/2 c.) 2 env. spaghetti sauce mix 2 cloves garlic, minced 8 oz. lasagne or wide noodles 1 (6-8 oz.) pkg. thin-sliced Mozzarella cheese 1 c. creamed style cottage cheese 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese Brown meat and spoon off fat. Add next 4 ingredients. Cover and simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt to taste. Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender. Drain and rinse in cold water. Place half the noodles in baking dish. Cover with 1/3 of sauce. Add half the Mozzarella cheese, then half the cottage cheese. Repeat the layers ending with the sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes, then cut into squares. |
