OATMEAL CARMELITAS 
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9 x 13 inch baking dish.

DOUGH:

2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. Quaker Oats
1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/4 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients. Press 1/2 dough mixture (about 3 cups) in the bottom of baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

FILLING:

1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips or 1 c.
1/2 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1 (12 oz.) jar caramel ice cream topping
3 tbsp. flour

Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over warm dough. Mix 3 tablespoons flour with caramel ice cream topping and drizzle over dough, chops, and nuts. Drop globs of the rest of dough on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool and cut in squares. For best results, refrigerate for 2 hours.
