1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
48 candy kisses or stars

Mix all together. Shape in balls, teaspoon for each. Roll in white sugar. Press flat on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. As soon as taken from oven, press kiss or star into center of each. Take from sheet with spatula. Let cool until cold before storing. Makes 48 cookies.
