SCOTCH SCONES 
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
2 eggs
1/3 c. milk
1/4 c. dried currants

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly greased large cookie sheet; set aside.

In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and currants. Add shortening and mix in lightly.

Beat eggs until light; add milk to eggs and add slowly to dry mixture.

Roll out 1/2 inch thick on floured board; cut into pieces 3 inches square, and fold over, making them three cornered.

Brush with milk, dust with sugar and bake about 25 minutes.
