MEXICAN SALAD 
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 can chili beans
1 tbsp. picante sauce
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
4 c. corn chips
2 c. cooked rice
3 c. chopped lettuce
2 chopped tomatoes
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. water

Combine first 6 ingredients. Simmer for 40 minutes. Melt cheese with water and butter.

In 9x13 inch dish, layer corn chips, rice, meat sauce, lettuce, tomatoes. Pour cheese sauce over all. Serve at once.
