YUPPIE COOKIES
5 cups dry oatmeal
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 cups (4 sticks) butter
2 cups white sugar
2 cups packed brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) milk chocolate candy bar (Hershey's)
3 cups chopped nuts

Blend 5 cups dry oatmeal (quick cooking or old-fashioned) in food processor or blender until powdery. Mix with flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Set aside.

Cream butter and sugars together until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour and oatmeal mixture; mix well. Mix in chocolate chips, nuts and broken chunks of milk chocolate candy bar.

Note: This requires a very large bowl.

Drop by golf ball sized spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. A small ice cream scoop works well.

Bake at 375°F for 6 minutes. Do not overbake.

Makes about 9 dozen cookies.
