BROWN SUGAR MERINGUE FROSTING 
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 egg whites
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt

Combine all ingredients, except vanilla, in top of double boiler. Beat 1 minute at high speed of electric mixer. Place over boiling water and beat 7 to 8 minutes until stiff peaks form. Remove from heat; add vanilla and beat an additional 2 minutes.

Yield: Enough to frost 1 (2 layer) cake.
