GINGERBREAD MEN | |
1 c. molasses 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. brown sugar 3 3/4 c. flour 3/4 tsp. ginger 3/4 tsp. cloves 3/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. allspice 3/4 tsp. baking soda Melt molasses and butter in a large pan; stir until well mixed and add sugar, stir until dissolved. Sift together remaining ingredients and beat into the molasses mixture. Put the dough in the refrigerator overnight. Remove at least 2 hours before attempting to roll. Roll out a on a slightly floured board and cut with cookie cutters (preferably men!). Place on greased sheet and bake 8 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove from sheet when partially cooled. When completely cooled frost with lightly flavored mint frosting. |
